The Town of Dunkirk is a growing community full of businesses, lakefront property, agriculture, and residential homes. The Town of Dunkirk is located in Chautauqua County and is split into the East and West, separated by the City of Dunkirk. The Town has a population of roughly 1,300 people.
Two Vital aspects of the Town are the Fire Departments that work tersely to protect our residents, as volunteers. There is the West Town of Dunkirk Fire Company and the East Town of Dunkirk Fire Company. Both Companies are always looking for new volunteers and donations. These volunteers are vital to the safety of our residents. For Questions on how to join or donate, you make contact the Clerk’s office at 716-366-3967.
On the West side of Town, you will find a variety of small businesses, lakefront property, and agriculture. Our local golf course is located on this side of Town right on Lake Erie, Shorewood Country Club. Any information on this club can be found in our community tab. The West side of town is also home to Canadaway Creek. This creek is known as a great fishing location to many fishermen across Chautauqua County.
As for the East side of the Town, it is home to our busy business corridors such as Vineyard Drive and Bennett Road (also known as Route 60.) As you travel further into the East side of Town, you will see the transition to our residential areas and more agricultural areas.
